"I developed the concept focusing on the provided colour palette and a style, which would combine perfectly together to create the ballroom. We had a few eras and styles in mind which helped me to develop the simple, yet strong room layout. Pretty happy with how it came out, especially after trialing a couple of different carpet and ceiling styles."-Alexis Pepper

Colour Palette
"The colour palette was difficult to nail down. The key inspiration for the concept itself was Disney, so we initially tried to use the colour palettes from classics such as Beauty and the Beast. We kept running into difficulties, as all these colours seemed a little too bold. Researching further, I was inspired by the Gobelins short film, Dodudindon. The film featured a similar setting to our own, and despite a clear lack of Disney influences, all the pastel and lower-saturated tones featured in the film were bold and worked harmoniously. We created a palette with similar ideas in mind - contrasting, yet harmonious colours of lower saturation's and deeper hues."

Character Concepts
"While concepting I was trying to keep the look and feel of Disney, with the big, beautiful dresses and sophisticated Prince outfit. Wanted the keep the Prince outfit simple and to compliment the Princess dress. Our focus is mainly on her so we gave her the bight colours. The background reflects our colour palette and had to make sure it matches but also stands out."
